Mississippi Book Festival

  • Mississippi State Capitol 400 High Street Jackson, MS, 39201 United States (map)

Every summer, the Mississippi Book Festival unites readers and authors in an exhilarating celebration of books. Free and open to all, the festival brings the written word to fun, festive life with authors, panel discussions, book signings, family-friendly activities, food trucks, live music, and more!

Join us on Saturday, August 19, on the State Capitol lawn at the Friendly City Books tent on Booksellers Row. We’re giving away copies of Stretch Like Scarlet all day and our bookstore dog Scarlet will make an appearance herself at noon for photos and pawtographs.

At 2:45 pm, meet Mississippi poets Thomas Richardson (author of How to Read published by Friendly City Books) and C. T. Salazar (editor of Mid/South Sonnets and author of Headless John the Baptist Hitchhiking).
