Friendly City Books is located at 118 5th Street North in the historic downtown of Columbus, Mississippi.
Our hours are 10 am-5:30 pm Tuesday through Saturday.

Bookstore
Friendly City Books is a general bookstore, with a wide variety of genres, including children’s books. Browse over 5 million books at our online store hosted by Bookshop.org. We also offer audiobooks on the Libro.fm app.
Consignment
Thank you for your interest in selling your book at Friendly City Books. Currently, we are not taking in new books on consignment. If you are a current or former Mississippi resident and your book is available via Ingram, you are welcome to email information about your book to us at info@friendlycitybooks.com.

Publications
Friendly City Books publishes original books 2-3 times per year. We released Stretch Like Scarlet, a children’s book by Emily Liner, in 2020, and How to Read, a poetry collection by Thomas Richardson, in 2021. Our next project is Savor, a food poetry anthology planned for Spring 2024. Bookstores can purchase our titles through Ingram or directly at wholesale from Friendly City Books by contacting info@friendlycitybooks.com.
Scarlet
If you’re lucky, you might get to meet our bookstore dog Scarlet on a visit to Friendly City Books. Did you know that she has her own book? You can get your own “pawtographed” copy of Stretch Like Scarlet at the shop or online.
